As stated before, Lemmers is located on the Frisian coast
line. Friesland is the largest water province of the Netherlands,
boardering to the IJsselmeer and the Waddenzee. But wait…
there is more!
If the Maxima turns inland and passes through the locks,
she can sail through the canals and head for one of the
many Frisian lakes that lay there.
It is a rather interesting experience to sail with such
a large boat in the middle of grazing cows and the many
acres of farm land that keeps them. As you reach the end
of the canal, a lake appears and the Maxima heads for
one of the many little islands you can find here.
Almost all the villages and towns can be reached by the
Maxima, and it offers a great alternative if the wind
is too hard to be on open water or simply because it is
so much fun to have a barbecue and a campfire on 'your
own' private island. |
